Study and Practice six fundamental basketball skills.
  • Dribbling
  • Passing
  • Shooting
  • Rebounding
  • Offence
  • Defence
Dribbling: Primary way of moving ball around, when passing isn't a better option. Dribble only when it is absolutely necessary. A better strategy than dribbling would be to grip the ball firmly and position your body between the ball and your defender.

Passing: Best option for moving ball around, it gets the ball to the open man. Great passing skill is the key of success of team.

Shooting: Most practised basketball skill by any player. Throwing the basketball toward the hoop. You should practise this in game condition, not otherwise.

Rebounding: When a player shoots the basketball and it comes off the rim or backboard either team is allowed to go after the ball and try to rebound it. The person with the best position is usually going to come up with the rebound.

Offence: It is your method to score baskets and get open shots against your opponent. Knowing how and when to support your teammates with screens and finding best offensive option is important.

Defence: The team without ball tries to block the opponent's shot by defence. They try to steal the ball, contest shots, steal and deflect passes, and garner rebounds.
